I was first introduced to the Grombal product by Michael Cartellone (Lynyrd Skynyrd/Damn Yankees) when I started working for him as his drumtech. Michael likes his cymbals to stay at a particular, almost flat, angle. It is impossible to do this with felts due to how their shape will distort in short order. The Grombal keeps the cymbals where one wants them and provides a sleeve to prevent the tilter from causing keyholing. When the Cymbal Chief was introduced, I found it to be the perfect product for me and installed them on my personal drumsets. I can use my Wing-Loc's for ease of set-up/tear-down. If you like your cymbals to stay in place at rest but be able to move freely when struck, the Grombal and/or Cymbal Chief are THE BEST solutions!
